Notes From A Kitchen - Bonus TUTORIAL

I was trying to thin of some clever, cute, witty way to start this post, but I'm blanking.  So let's just jump to the good stuff.  Save the witty banter for later.

That and I have a ton of pictures from this set.....

I recently made cookies for a book signing.  The book is:

An impressive new book written by Jeff Scott and Blake Beshore.  Blake is from these parts.  His parents still live here.

In fact, it didn't surprise me too much when my Mother-In-Law called me up and told me she was going to a party.

And she wanted to bring cookies.

 How could I say no?

.Glad I made them.

Not just because I LOVE the way they turned out.

But also because my MIL felt so inclined to score me a signed copy.

Sweet!!  :)

With how beautiful this book is, I think that's a fair trade.  :)

 I'll give y'all a review some time.

Also, wanted to show you a VIDEO on a quick way to apply a sugar border.

It took me HOURS to do all these.  I did 8 dozen in less than 24 hours, including dry time and photographs.  So sleep....sleep is over rated.  Please excuse me if I seem tired in the VIDEO.  I think I was running on a 2 hours of sleep medicated with a large mug of black tea and a sugar free Redbull.....

Anyway, I was honored to make cookies for this event and for such a special publication.  I'll let you know how the book reads later ;)

  1. Wow are these amazing! The black 'chalkboard' style cookies are just stunning, and I'm in love with the diamond pattern, too. I appreciate the note-paper ones also, as I'm making cookies for my son's high school writing club tomorrow and was searching for a style for them - found it!!

The YouTube video was experiencing a minor glitch today for some reason so it was down for about 20 minutes. Sorry you caught it in a hiccup! But it's up now! :)
