I mean not pink and zebra and glitter kind of girly... I mean like lace and ruffles and makeup and shoes kind of girly. And sparkly things....can't forget pretty sparkly things.
So it's no real surprise that I love putting ruffles on cookies.
The most important part of making ruffles is the icing consistency and the angle of your icing tip. Your icing should be thick. Thicker than piping icing but you know....you have to be able to get it out of the tips...so not that thick. And the angle... well, you should probably just go watch the VIDEO...
Yay for me!!! I made some fugly ruffles the other day!!! Maybe this will help me!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been in DIRE need of this tutorial! I was so excited to see it! Many thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteLove love love this!! Your video tutorials are great! There are so many things about decorating that you can only learn by watching someone....and now we can watch you!! Thanks for all of these! Can't wait to try some ruffles!
ReplyDeleteLoved this tutorial, now I need to start practicing! Just wondering...did you use a #103 tip to make the ruffle pattern on the last heart cookie shown in this post? Would love to see how you decorated that one ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks all!
ReplyDeleteActually Paula, I used a #104 for that one. But a #103 might work too. Just make sure to bring your ruffle all the way to the center
Love the ruffles, the next time I want to play around with cookie decorating I will have to try this!!

It is obvious that you are ultra talented. Bummer about the move and baking restrictions; but looks like you've made it work :)
ReplyDeleteMy question...You have MANY baked goods for your blog and videos. What in the world do you do with them when you're done. It's probably a silly question...but just wondering.
Alison, una pregunta donde puedo conseguir el cortador de las galletas del paraguas y la señora embarazada es precioso.
ReplyDeleteGracias como siempre por compartir.
