So I was thinking of doing some kinda Harry Potter set for Halloween....
But then I realized that I have kids and a house to clean and all that so I had to downsize that project...
So I started to think about the creepiness of Harry Potter....you know, the dark magic... and that scene where he says "diagonally" in the flue instead of Diagon Alley.....and he ends up in Knockturn Alley...and that creepy shop.....
Sorry, my nerd is showing. I'll cover that up.....
Anyways I was imagining what the shop signs down Knockturn Alley would look like....and I ended up with this:
I mean yea...they're more of ads and signs.....but still a little creepy. And I got to use one of my favorite techniques. A little hand painting...
I've done cookies kind of like these before and even made a small video tutorial. So If you want to see these kind of cookies being made in action go check that out.
Like how I photographed a cookie upside down? I'm just awesome like that. |
And the "Ghost Elixir" bottle and the "Bare Bones Bar" signs....are cookie cutters designed my SugarBelle. I got them over at Karen's. It's really a cookie jar and a pencil....but ya know....that's what's so great about the cutters....they're so versatile.
Leave it up to SugarBelle right?
Anyway.....I hope everyone's well on their way to having a great October. We ordered Halloween costumes last week. So stinking cute....I'll write more about that later.

This set is so awesome! Love the details. I tried it, and mine aren't anywhere nearly as artistic!
Love, love, love!!!! I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, you did a great job making Diagon Alley come to life!
Love these!
Can I sit and watch you go all cookie wizard? Again, I mean. I might record you.
So, that is paint? Or a white food pen? It's amazing, but HOW did you do that?!
Ok, just saw the link to your tutorial...watching it now...amazing!
